Probation officers are nice.
Staff seem mostly friendly.
Cops...well, theyre not exactly fair...though, when I've been safe they are. Kinda a hit or miss with them.
Worst judges you could possibly imagine. Denied a protection order from a person I showed to have given me death threats via text message and video of him destroying my property.

I went in to handle a false warrant I had and upon arriving at the office to handle it they arrested me on the spot because I was 20 mins late. I live in Denver which is about an hour away. I missed a full day of work because I was in there for 9 hours while everything was sorted out. And I still have to go back and see a judge missing another day of work. douglas county is HORRIBLE. 0 stars if it was possible.

I recently got in trouble legally for the first REAL time (previous issues have been easily resolved and/or were minor infractions, while this time I found myself facing real legal trouble) and felt like I was handed an entirely unnecessary punishment (18 months probation for an M3 *[the lowest level misdemeanor, one step above a petty offence]* for my first *[non-traffic related]* criminal charge ever), but I have been given the opportunity of a life time and couldn't be happier with the understanding and support the court has given me. If I manage to succeed (along with a few other individuals taking part in a trial program), it may be the beginning of a new era where the courts treat people with drug addictions/mental health problems as people who need help, not just as criminals, and get them (people like myself) proper help instead of just throwing them in jail and setting them up for repeated failure.
